Whew, it's been hot and humid! The weather is definitely not the best for playing outside right now, which means finding fun things for the kids to do inside. We have a bit of a heat wave coming through and it looks like it's going to last for another week or so. I'm a little worried about all my plants, as they are definitely looking a little droopy at the moment. I try to remember to water them but we are having the outside of our house painted this week, and since we have painters around all day, I like to wait until they are gone before going outside. And by that time I totally forget to go out and water the flowers! Time to make an alert on my phone to remember to water in the evening...

Even if we didn't have workers outside the house all day, the kids definitely would be hesitant to go out and play like they usually do. My oldest is just like her daddy and gets super hot super easily. She doesn't do well with humidity at all. So when I found out we were getting these really fun Sculpey Bake Shop Kits from Tryazon to try out with our friends, I knew I had the perfect solution for the inside blues.

Growing up, I bought Sculpey clay at the craft store all the time. I remember sitting at the desk in my room for hours, blasting my favorite alternative music, and sculpting really cool figurines all day. Sculpey has always been a part of my life and is a product I've loved and trusted for quite some time. So getting the opportunity to try and share their awesome products was kind of a childhood dream come true.

Tryazon and Sculpey sent us an awesome kit. We got the Monster Maker Bake Shop Kit, the Wildlife Whimsy Bake Shop Kit, a Bake Shop 10 Piece Kit, and lots of coupons to share with friends and family. My kids were super excited about both kits, as they love monsters and sloths! My husband has been obsessed with sloths since he was a kid, so it's been nice that sloths are having a moment right now. My kids couldn't wait to make him a sloth ring!

I sent out invites to close friends, family, and neighbors to join us in the Sculpey fun. I decided to do a hybrid party since some guests were still hesitant to meet in groups. I hosted an in person party for a few close friends and then dropped off kits for other friends to join in a virtual party. I had 4 families (11 people total) that chose to do the virtual party, so I had them choose which Bake Shop Kit they wanted to do. I then made copies of the instructions of the kit they chose and included the clay colors they'd need. I then dropped these bags off on their doorsteps right before the party. The day of my party, I had a laptop set up with the Tryazon and Sculpey websites ready so that I could explain each to my guests. The virtual families joined in and I screen shared the sites with them, explaining the reason for my party. I then showed them the kits I received and the coupons. My in person guests snacked on monster cupcakes and soda while the kids created fun monsters and sloths. I had 9 guests that came to the in person event. After everyone made their creations, I stuck them in the oven to harden so they could take them home. All my guests had heard of Sculpey before, and many had used it previously at some point, but no one was aware of the Bake Shop Kits. Everyone was super impressed and really enjoyed these kits!

Everyone took turns working on a creation while everyone else played games and ate snacks. The creativity was everywhere! What everyone raved about the most was how easy it was to make the creations, as the instructions were super easy to follow. It was also nice that the kits came with all the supplies you needed, ready to go.

Some of the kids took the liberty of creating their own monsters, which was just as fun and creative. I was even impressed that one of the younger kids was able to create a fun figure all on their own! The clay was so soft that it was really easy for little fingers to manipulate.

Everyone loved this party and it was such a fun way to spend time with friends and family! My kids will definitely be doing clay figures this summer to beat the heat inside. And a little piece of my heart will be so happy to see them crafting just like I did so long ago!
