Does anyone else's family have game night every week? For us, it's Friday. We have officially dubbed Friday's "Pizza Fri-yay" and we always eat pizza, play a game, and watch a movie. It's become a thing in our house and really lifts the mood at the end of every week. Honestly, I look forward to pizza every week and not having to figure out what we're having for dinner.
The games we play are family friendly and easy for the kids to get involved with. We have a plethora of games and are always on the lookout for new ones. I personally love trivia games, and Trivial Pursuit is one of my all time favorites, but it's definitely not kid friendly. I'm still patiently waiting for the day we can play that game with the kids, but it's going to be awhile. So in my search for a fun trivia game that is kid friendly, I came across Tryazon's opportunity to host a Game Night with Guess in 10.
The company Skillmatics makes a really fun and educational game series called Guess in 10. There are a few different varieties, but they are kid friendly trivia games that the whole family can play. I was intrigued and thus signed up to host a Game Night with Guess in 10. I was super excited when I heard I was chosen to host and couldn't wait to check these games out!

I received two versions of Guess in 10; Animal Planet and States of America. I'm a history major, so I was super excited about the states version! I started getting my party ready so that I could share these with my friends and family.
I hosted my party on a Friday night to coincide with my family's normal game night. I invited our family, friends, and neighbors and hosted a drop-in style event from 4-6, where friends could drop by when they wanted. This was perfect, because then we didn't have too many people inside at one time, so everyone was comfortable with it. We had 18 people stop by to check out these games; 7 kids and 11 adults. I had my laptop set up with both Tryazon and Skillmatics websites up so that I could explain to guests about each company. A lot of guests were happy to receive the 30% off code for Skillmatics, as they wanted to order some of the games for birthdays coming up. I then had two areas set up where people could test out each game. Most of the kids loved the animal version while most adults liked the states version. I had pizza for everyone to eat while they socialized and played the games. At the end of the party, I had every guest write their name on a piece of paper when they came and I raffled off the animal version to a lucky winner. Overall, this was a fun experience and guests absolutely loved the games!

The best part about the Guess in 10 games is that they are very interactive and you can play in teams. This is helpful when playing with young kids, who may not know all the states yet. It was a fun team experience that we turned into a friendly competition. The kids liked being able to compete with the adults and enjoyed coming up with questions to ask to guess the card.

The game is played by asking 10 yes or no questions in order to try to guess the animal or state on the card. Each team gets two clues right at the beginning of the card to help out. We had a friend who is a pro at state capitals, so if one of the clues was a capital, he automatically knew the answer without having to ask any questions. This was frustrating at times, but not if you were on his team!
There were ways to get more points, by taking a chance at bonus questions. Everyone liked that you could level this up in different ways to make it more challenging.

By the end of the night, everyone had such a good time and was asking when we were going to make game night an official once a week thing with all our neighbors and friends. We will definitely be looking into adding this type of event to our rotation!
