Game Night with Astro Trash

We have a week of school under our belts, and our big first grader is loving it. We were nervous with her being at a new school this year that the first week would be very emotional and stressful, but she's adjusting wonderfully. Seeing her get off the bus with a smile every day makes things much better around here! So when it came to our usual Friday game night, I wanted to surprise her with a new game to celebrate her awesome first week.
Through my collaboration with the party company Tryazon, we got to test out a new game called Astro Trash from the company The OP (USAopoly). This game is for ages 6 and older and only takes around 20 minutes to play. This was one of my favorite aspects of the game, as we really enjoy games that we all can play together and don't take all night to finish. You need 3-5 players to play, which makes this a great game for our little family as well as a great game for friends.
How the game works is each player gets a round planet that they then place 10 pieces of "space trash" on. The "space trash" are small, plastic objects that come in different colors. Each player gets three dice. You roll all three to tell you how much and where to put your "trash". One dice tells you what color trash to get rid of, one dice tells you if you give it to the person on your left, right, or if it goes into the sun in the center of play, and the last dice tells you how much of that trash you can get rid of. It's a fast paced game (which my daughter loved), so you keep rolling and getting rid of your trash until your planet is empty. Once that happens, play stops and you get a trophy. The first person with three trophies wins. Simple, fast, and fun!

After the success of our game night, we hosted a party at my parent's house to show all the neighbors and our friends how the game works. At our party, I had a laptop set up with The OP's website so guests could learn more about the games they make. I showed everyone videos on Tryazon and The OP so they could learn more about the brands. We hosted a cookout with corn on the cob, potato salad, and beef and cheddar subs so that our guests could enjoy themselves until their turn to play. We then had an Astro Trash Tournament, where all 16 of our guests took turns playing the game until we had one winner out of all the finalists. That winner got to take home the second copy of the game that I had received from Tryazon and The OP. Everyone had a really great time socializing and enjoying each other's company while we played Astro Trash. I let my guests know they could pick this game up at Target or Amazon. My best friend bought it right there on the spot since her kids loved it so much!

With my daughter's new obsession with this game, we'll be sure to be playing it well into the next month or so. But that's quite alright with us, because it's so much fun to play!
