Crafting with Crayola

Valentine's Day is this week! I cannot believe we are almost halfway through February! I am also SO thankful that we haven't really gotten any snow this winter either and the temperatures have been super high (sorry for all you fluff loving folks out there...). As I get older, I absolutely detest the cold and winter itself. The dreary coldness just makes me feel so gloomy and yuck. My husband and I have the same conversation every winter about moving south or somewhere where it doesn't get below 40 degrees regularly. Of course, we always come up with reasons not to move...we love our town and friends, my family is right down the street, the schools are really good here, we don't want to upend the girls' lives, etc. But boy, do we dream of warm weather all year round!
So when I'm feeling dreary and just need a pick me up, I look to crafting to fill the cold void. It's something to do and being creative just makes you feel less gloomy. Growing up, I've always used Crayola products because honestly, they have consistently made the BEST kid crafting products that are generally mess and worry free. It's a brand I've always trusted and loved. When I was picked by the party company Tryazon to host a Crafting with Crayola party, I couldn't contain my excitement as I told my friends and family about the opportunity. They were all excited to do something to beat the winter gloom as well!

I received the most generous party pack from Crayola to share with my friends and family. Basically everything we needed to make whatever crafts we wanted! There was a huge pack of crayons, markers, glue sticks, permanent markers that write on all surfaces (so cool!), a huge glitter glue pack, paintbrushes, canvases, scissors, construction paper, and two packs of washable paint jars. The possibilities were just endless for what we could do!
For my crafting party, I sent out Evites to all my friends and family to join us after school on a Friday. I made some rainbow cupcakes (to match the Crayola color theme) and served red and blue punch. My husband blew up some rainbow colored balloons to decorate the floor space for the kids. People started trickling in around 4:15 pm. I had our desktop computer front and center with the Crayola and Tryazon web page so that I could tell my guests all about how both companies worked. Then I left up the Crayola page for guests to peruse their products as the kids crafted. Altogether we had 12 adults and 8 kids come by. I had out all the products to display and then the kids could choose what they wanted to do. Most wanted to paint. Some kids chose to use masking tape to make a design on their canvas while painting around it, and then when their canvas dried, they took the tape off for a cool art effect. Everyone was loving that the paint was washable! Even when my daughter got some on her black shirt, I was able to just use a baby wipe to wipe it clean! I'm all about that!

Towards the end of the party after the kids were able to craft, I raffled off the glitter glue pack, two packs of canvases, one pack of paint, one pack of paintbrushes, and the pack of markers to some lucky guests. Everyone got to take something home to try, which they loved. It was so much fun to get together, craft with Crayola, and share the love with everyone.

I couldn't be any happier with Crayola or their products! Seriously, no one makes crafting supplies better than they do! My friends were super impressed with the little jars of paint and the really cool permanent markers that write on most anything. I'm betting most will go out to buy them right away.

So if you're looking for a great company with amazing crafting products for kids that won't eat your budget or make a mess, look no further than Crayola. We are so happy with their products and I know all my friends and family are as well. Check out all the supplies and craft kits they offer on their web page, or check out your local Target or Walmart as well! http://www.crayola.com
