My girls are huge fans of robots. Don't get me wrong. They definitely love princesses, dressing up, and jewelry too. But when it comes to my oldest, Sophie...well, that girl just loves all things space/robot/building oriented. So when I found out we were getting the new Rusty Rivets Tigerbot from Spin Master, I knew my girls (especially Sophie) were going to be ecstatic. Sophie (and by default Nora) has been watching Rusty Rivets for the past year. She's got the theme song down pat. Hey, I can't complain about a show that uses STEM education.

Anyways, I had gotten the tracking information that the Tigerbot was coming about 3 days ago and every day I was excitedly checking to see what the delivery status was. Honestly, it's like Christmas every time I get a package. Any other stay at home moms out there hear me??!! So when we woke up this morning, I knew it was going to be a good Friday because my package was out for delivery (!) It also helped that the kids were super good this morning, which never happens. Usually getting Sophie to do her chores before school ensues in an all out yell fest, but today she actually did everything on her own. Including making her own breakfast. So really, the odds were in my favor for a fantastic Friday.

And so, when we got back from dropping Sophie off at the bus, look what had been delivered!

Oh the joys of receiving a package! Nora was super excited to open the box.

Woohoo! Of course, Nora wanted to open it right away. I told her we had to wait until Sophie got home to all play with it. This was a seriously loaded phrase. Any time I have to deny my child something, I'm always holding my breath and preparing for a complete negative reaction. Like a volcano erupting or a car blowing up. She actually took it really well! Seriously, could this be the best Friday ever?? She only insisted we take a picture so that Sophie could know how excited she was to be the first to touch it. Touche little one. Touche.

When Sophie got home from school, everyone was super excited to try this out. We unpacked it and the girls got right into figuring out how to build the Tigerbot. Sophie commented that she loved that the Tigerbot toy looked just like the Tigerbot from the actual show. She also loved that you can take a part all of the pieces and build it yourself. She also likes that it make a tiger sound when you press on it's head and that it's legs and head move when it's all built.

I super love that it is easy enough to build for my 3 year old, but also still fun for my 5 year old, so it can last a long time in age usage. I like that you can buy other toys from the line and incorporate them together. For instance, the Tigerbot has a place where a rider can sit on him if you buy the other figures in the toy line. I really like that this promotes STEM skills, like constructing. It's a toy that keeps them busy, yet when it's all together, then can play with it still for longer. Though we haven't bought the other toys from the line yet, the girls still like to take their random figurines that they have and play with the Tigerbot. It's nice that this also has an on/off switch for the sound that is hidden in the middle, but is easily accessed by disconnecting the stomach. This is a great feature, because then the younger daughter isn't constantly turning it on and off.

The girls have been playing with this nonstop and I'm loving that they're actually sharing it and not fighting over it. Because when does that ever happen?!

We are most certainly going to be checking out the entire line of Rusty Rivets toys the next time we're out :)
