Little Medical School Educational Kits

The beginning of summer can sometimes be a bummer. At first, I'm so excited to get my little one back every day and glad that we don't have to worry about literacy bags and homework for the foreseeable future. But after a week, the summer whining begins. The constant fighting of siblings, refusing to go outside and wanting instead to watch TV, the constant requests for snacks...it can really make you wish for school to start up ASAP. So I decided that this summer we would focus on trying to do more "fun" educational things. Like writing our own stories or plays and acting them out. Or doing alphabet hide and seek. The possibilities were endless. My patience was not.

Enter these really super cool kits from the company Little Medical School. I was chosen to test out these educational kits through a company called Tryazon. I had never heard of the brand before and was inspired to learn more. I found out that The Little Medical School was started by a doctor who realized the importance of exposing kids to medical ideas and concepts at an early age to inspire a love and interest in the medical field. Through the power of role play, The Little Medical School was founded to give kids a real look at what healthcare professional do in their profession. The kits they created have real tools of the trade in them, like working stethoscopes and paper tape measures. We were sent two kits: How to be a Veterinarian and How to be a Pediatrician.

There are activity cards in each kit that break down different tasks a Veterinarian and a Pediatrician do, like taking weights, measurements, and body checks. There are dry erase markers that you can use to check off the tasks as you do them and Certificates of Adoption that you can fill out. Each kit had a working stethoscope and packets that explained how to role play with the kit. The Veterinarian kit had a stuffed dog to work with, pink putty for molding casts and other items, a measuring paper tape, a lab coat, dog treat recipe and bone cookie cutter, gloves, tweezers and sticky "ticks" you could use to pick off the dog (the kids thought this was hilarious!).

The Pediatrician kit had a stuffed baby with a cloth diaper on, a cloth blanket with swaddling instructions, a real stethoscope, a lab coat, a measuring paper tape, a baby ID bracelet, and a small cloth baby wipe.

The kids enjoyed working through the activity guide and it kept them really engaged the entire time! We had a couple get togethers with friends, family, and neighbors to show off these awesome kits. All the kids who interacted with them raved about how fun and real they were. All the adults were impressed with how engaged their kids were. It was super fun to see how much the kids learned about each of these professions.

If you're looking for a fun and educational way to spend the summer, check these kits out! There are even other kit options, besides the two we were sent as well. Check out their online store here https://www.littlemedicalschool.com/shop for more. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how fun and engaged your kids will be! And these kits may just help you retain your sanity for summer...
